Default What happened in the End ? (spoilers)

Recently I found that my vision of the ending of VII Was Wrong, I tought that casting Holy would kill everything and everyone in the planet, and there is all this scene of holy stoping meteora, and ... washh, no more.only a scene of midgar buried like a green jungle. I thought " Everybody´s die !, amazing ending !". Recently I Found with Advent Children that they´re alive, It cant be, I supossed that the movie is gonna be developed in the way how Holy kills every Being in the planet , and maybe that scene of Midgar avandoned is an image after the events of Advent Children. It´s just spinning in my head, please help me solve the puzzle.

Didn't you notice a grizzled Red XIII and two children? His species lives a long time. If he survived, that implies that everyone else survives. Advent Children is supposed to take place between when Meteor is stopped by a combined Mako and Holy, and to that short scene hundreds of years later.

i believe they only suspected that holy might kill everybody but didn't really know. it takes out everything that is a danger to the planet apparently so it makes its choice.
perhaps at the end of ff7 they intended to suggest that humans had died but red xiii types had lived on or something and then changed their minds for advent children.
whatever happened midgar certainly wasn't too pleased about it by the looks.

Meoteor is the ultimate dark spell, holy is the ultimate light spell, thus they canceled out.

Did they changed their minds ?, It´s very dissapointing find that the amazing "all Die " ending was destroyed by Advent children, I want to see that movie and find out what are they gonna say about it . Yeah, I saw The Red XIII Look Alike animals, but it just doesn´t says anything , if the planet reborn, and a new creaturas were re-borning , that doesn´t mean that everybody survive in VII end. it´s just so confusing !, they said that the main story of VII was supossed to let Aeris be resurrected, but time , and sale deals , and whatever, they erased all that part, and I´m now beginnig to think that they are resurrecting the ENTIRE cast just to make a movie about it, And what about Midgar ?, is´n forgotten , why it doesnt look the same in the trailers of AC than in the final shot of the end of VII, there is people living there and all that stuff, they rebuild it ?, when was destroyed at first ?. I hope they can find a good explanation for all this .

Ok Im pretty sure that everybody in midgar died. You can tell that by the ruins in advent chilred and the ending but I dont think that EVERYBODY died from the impact. Dont you think that if it did hit the ground there would be more of a... crater? I certainly dont think that midgar would still be there. Maybe their not dead maybe the damage was done in the scene with those red tornados and lightning tearing things apart and they all escaped. It was a little short on details but suffice to say people are alive... (man thats the worst end to a post EVER.)

It was a few hundred years later. I take it to mean that Midgar was abandoned, as was the Mako-sucking technology.

I recall Bugenhagen saying that the planet will only destroy what it thinks it must, when Holy was summoned. If the planet wants the human race to survive, then it'll let it survive. If the planet felt that the humans were too destructable, then the planet will get rid of them. Apparently, not all of the human race was meant to be destroyed, hence Cloud and others still being alive for Advent Children.

I realize that was just a minor typo, but it's funny, 'cause it sounds like you're saying that they saved the planet from Linkin Park .

    Default meteor...a

Hi, I don´t know where that "A" came from in "meteora", but I would love that somebody do something to stop linkin park (hate them) . All the opinions that I´ve read , are pretty sure that no one died in the ending. ok, that´s easy to realize looking at the Advent Children Trailer that is supossed to take place 2 year after the ending of VII, But what about your first impression when you first saw the ending, it was very hard to say there were alive uh ?.

It never showed them dead. It only showed Red XIII 500 years later, when all the others would be dead from old age a long time before.

    *SPOILERS!*

I always thought humanity survived in the end anyway. Maybe Holy was planning to destroy all humanity, maybe it was even helping Meteor do it, but then Aeris and the Lifestream came, and that made sure Meteor would be destroyed and Holy wouldn't hurt humans even if it would do that.

There's a few hints in the game that Holy wouldn't destroy humanity, though. They're both during the ending. First, do you remember when Holy/Lifestream go inside Cloud and Sephiroth after their duel? When Holy goes inside Cloud, it soon leaves his body along with some red energy, which I consider to be the Jenova cells. So Jenova leaves Cloud's body, but Cloud doesn't die. I think the same happened to Sephiroth, but since Jenova kept him alive when he was supposed to be dead, he became one with the Planet and joined the Lifestream. And when Highwind tries to leave the crater, Holy explodes and swallows the ship. However, it doesn't kill anyone on the ship. Instead, it actually guides the ship out of the collapsing crater, saving the characters. Then Cid launches the emergency module so that the airship changes into a jetplane and so that he could control the ship again.

    Default I dunno

that ending is still in my head like a voice, I noticed that behind abandoned midgar is like a little city with kind of smoke , It can´t be detailed so much. that maybe is not Red XIII, maybe he survive cause his race was the only one that didn´t hurt the planet. Very interesting the children laugh a the end , Advent Children ?, they got all planned for a sequel ?, I want to see that movie !, maybe they tell us more about midgar, about that sorpresive end, about aeris, and about that dude in the chair, what a masterpiece.
