Unlike most of you, it seems, I really hated Final Fantasy VIII. The storyline was completely lacking. It seems to me that the writers realized half way through that the characters had no connection, so they threw together the little (SPOILER)we all came from the same orphanage but didn't remember thing. The GF System was okay, but the battles were sooo boring I didn't level up much and have yet to beat the game. I stuck IX in the Playstation the other day and got more enjoyment out of listening to the opening music than I had with the 30+ hours of playing this piece of crap. I really like the fantasy setting more than a futuristic one, but I still enjoyed VII and X far more than VIII. Out of the main series, I think it's the worst I've played. My least favorite RPG...
