I live in near Chicago, and I heard from my Mom that there was an earthquake! 4.5 magnitude, and I slept through the whole entire thing, even though I was on the floor.

All life begins with a Nu and ends with a Nu.

There was one near San Diego last week. It was a.. 4.8 or something. It happened while I was in the dentist chair. Not very fun when the dentist has her hands in my mouth and the whole room starts shaking.
Mr Thou! Mr Thou!
What are earthquakes like? Are you guys so used to them that they aren't scary? I wouldn't know 'cause I'm a dirty New Jersian.
:monster2: One, AH! AH! Two, AH AH! Three, AH AH!
I also live in the Chicagoland area, in the northern suburbs, closer to Wisconsin. I was a bit farther away from the epicenter and didn't really feel it. Some neighboring counties did, though.
There are quite a few earth-quakes here... sitting on the Syrian-African tactonic fracture, as we do. There was one a few months ago, around 4 Richter... no-body felt it, but it cracked some buildings. Nothing serious, though.
There was one that I remember, a few years ago... it was 6.5-7 Richter, and it woke me up. The windows were shaking, and my bed trembled. I don't remember what I did, but I wasn't scared. It was kind of neat.![]()

Whenever I'd stay at my Nana's in LA, they'd get little earthquakes, and I'd sleep through them. One time there was one here, and I was so excited because I actually felt it.![]()

Me too, I even slept through the Northridge earthquake.Originally Posted by ShlupQuack

I was on the toilet the last time we had an earthquake.
I held onto the seat and prayed.

I'm in the California (SF Bay Area) and we get earthquakes pretty often. I think the biggest one I was alive for was the 1989 one... it was a 7.1 or something. I don't remember it, though. Earthquakes are scariest when you're driving.![]()
I want an earthquake! This is Western Washington, come one, we're overdue.
