Very prudent move, making the transfer at a different time from the one scheduled. I'd bet the insurgents were fuming at missing the opportunity to make a "statement"...

Hopefully, the new government will gain the support and confidence of the people, and also hopefully the coalition forces can protect them until their hold on power is secure and their country is back on its feet.

Not sure how long that might take, though...
