The Ultimate Challange of FFVIII

Just in chase anyone is bored by how easy FFVIII is I have posted this "Ultimate FFVIII Challange" that will make the game much harder. I'm currently trying it for myself. The challange is to complete the game with: only Squall (kill the other characters), No side leveling at all (see below) AND without drawing magic from any encounter or boss + not playing the card game (see below).

To completely avoid leveling you must use Seifer on the SeeD exam. Before you have to face unavoidable non-boss battles the next time you'll have to find an Break Drawpoint and cast Break on the enemies. Run from all random encounters.
Since the cardgame will provide you with cards that can be refined into to items that can make everything so much easier *cough* Laguna card *cough* you are not allowed to play it. Still, the cards that you'll get for free can be refined.
The Mug ability migth be usefull.

note: This challange is only for foolish FF fans (like me) who want an great FFVIII challange. But anyone who beat the game this way is NOT bad at FFVIII. (sorry people for this guaranteed replyless topic but I just feeled for posting is )

lol that does sound quite hard, despite ffVIII being so easy. i think i,ll have 2 play the game again normally first since its been like 3 and a half years since i last beat it.

have u started it yet? how r u doing on it? or maybe you have alreasy done it?

maybe we should disallow gfs and limit breaks too?

What if you played the game with however much leveling up you wanted, but with no junctioning allowed ? That would be interesting, not able to use any magic, ablitilies, or items...

i gotta another, do u think its possible to beat ffVIII at lv 7 without junctioning? i mean it is the easiest FF but maybe that IS impossible...

Hmmmm... never tougth about that... but I tried to balance it a little. I mean... an FF VIII play without junction only means Attack and limit break not even Item! And that's way to boring and I'm not sure if it's possible. I want to be sure that the challange IS possible. And an attack, Renzokuken play doesn't insolve any strat at all.

I have just beaten Biggs and Wedge + Elvoret. The difference is big and should be even bigger later on the harder bosses. Omega and Ultima Weapon is optional but I will try to (and) defeat them to. Not allowing GF... since Drawing from monsters isn't allowed, you can't gain some of them. Using GF's to much means that the SeeD rank will go down (but the SeeD rank will go down much anyway as you run from most battles and kill your party members). There is moments in the game where you'll have to split in two groups. That means that you'll have to use another solo person. The reason it maily is solo "Squall" instead of solo character is Zells Armagedon fist but most of all The end.

Just a side note: If you use Seifer at the Dollet SeeD exam to win the unavoidable battles (run fro the rando encounters), just keep in mind that when Seifer leaves the party, Squall and Zell will be revived with 1 HP. Don't forget to heal Squall.

Oh, damn... I found out that this is to easy... I will come up with a harder one.
