Default Supreme Court Vs Porn Restrictions

    http://story.news.yahoo.com/news?tmp...us_online_porn

I suppose the debate is more about: what IS freedom of speech than anything else at this point.

    Take care all.

What are they thinking? They'd just have to shut down the internet altogether for that...

But seriously...I don't agree that porn should be 'blocked out' or 'illegal online', because if thats the case it should be illegal altogether, which would indeed be unconstitutional (if I have the freedom of expression defenition correct).

People need to monitor and raise their kids, not expect the world to do it for them...that may make me sound like a thoughtless bastard but its the truth.

    Freedom of Speech?? whats that?

in all reality this is stupid. a little porn never killed a 6 year old. although i dont like pornography, it in no way should be censored.

I agree porn shouldn't be blocked out. This argument is caused by the new culture of whiney over attentative mothers who can't be arsed to raise there kids anymore and want the world to do it for them. They should shut up stop arguing and start raising their kids properly.

i agree with divinity, porn sites shouldnt exist, BUT they DO exist and it would be wrong to stop someone from making them. they have that right, and nobody should be able to take that from them. thats just my take in it at least.

    !!!!

If people see porn, they may commit crimes agains chastity, such as masturbation or having naught thoughts!!! And that is sin! NEXT THING IS RAPE!!!

IF WE DON'T DO SOMETHING, USA WILL END UP BEING A COUNTRY WHERE PEOPLE RAPE EACH OTHER IN THE STREET AS A WAY OF GREETING!!! And God the almighty will send a destrcutive meteorite rain and slay you all, for you are all impure!!! (Only people who read Chick tracts may survive).

Do nudity painters go to jail too?

Wo wo wo you've gone way over the top here Nexus. Only the mentally unstable go round raping people and yes some of them claim that it was caused by pornography. But not every man who looks at some porno is then going to go out and rape a woman. Most men are mentally stable enough not to.

And I agree with nik0tine again. These sites shouldn't exist but they do and it is an infringment on the freedom of speech that you Americans love so much to just ban them all just because some people don't like them. If you don't want to look at them, don't look at them that's what I say.

Should porn be taken off the internet completely? No. Should there ways to prevent minors from accessing porn sites? Certainly.

there are measures to prevent minors from looking at porn it's called child restrictions. Most IP's come with Parental controls as standard, so again it's down to the parents to make sure they're active. My IP has parental controls as it stands I have general access but that's because it is my parents choice to trust me not to look at porn, and I don't. My little sister has parental controls active so that she can't access various sites. Other than that parents have to be more vigilant as to what their children are loking at.

Trusting every parent to be more vigilant is, sadly, like trusting a serial killer not to murder anyone. Why do you think convenience stores require ID in order to buy porno magazines?

porn stars shouldnt have to suffer because parents cant raise their kids.

As others have said, there's a misconception that parents feel they are not responsible for raising their own children. That is indeed the very root of this problem. When parents actually take care of their children, perhaps by being more strict; asking questions and the like, then this sort of problem will not be making major headlines.

I'm not a fan of porn myself either, but unfortunately, unless we as a society decide to ban all forms of it, there's really no case to banning it from the internet.

    Take care all.
