All I can say is you all say how its hard to get virus' for Firefox and etc but thats because their minority browsers, if you were a hacker you wouldn't program a virus or spyware program to attack say half a million firefox browsers when theres over 2 billion IE browsers to attack.
If Firefox or Mozzilla or whatever became the browser of choice it would prove to be just as vunerable, its because its not widespread that it doesn't suffer.
Ah, but if Firefox/Mozilla get targeted by hackers/whatever, the response for getting patches out and available would be much much faster than MS ever does it - one of the nice things about open source software
I believe MS still hasn't released a proper patch for the current vulnerability yet and it's been around 2 weeks now - if you read between the lines for what they have released, all it does is change your configuration a bit, potentially breaking advanced functions businesses may use for internal intranet functions, but doesn't actually fix anything.
As for calling people idiots for still using IE, well, I think it's perfectly justified if they know the problems in IE, are able to change browser (ie they're not using someone else's PC), essentially have no reason to not demote IE to minimal usage for viewing the crappiest of sites or work practices, yet continue to refuse to make the change
