Well, consider them half informative. They tell half truths. Basically, they tell the truth but exaggerate it greately, making the truth not to be...much truth. The basic idea is still there. For example, the numbers in Bowling for Columbine, when he talks about gun deaths, are exaggerated, as he only used the ones for assasination on the other countries and included both accidents an assasination in USA. This made USA look like it had a lot more deaths, but:

1. USA is a larger country, with more people
2. As said, the numbers were inflated on one side

However...relatively, still more death by guns occur in USA than in other western nations. OK, maybe the abyss is not as large at it seems in the movie, but the fact is still there.

So yeah, sit down and keep in mind he will say half truths. And well, try to avoid the sensationalistic bits in the movie, cause you know, I personally thing the whole "Wonderful World" was ironical, but with quite a lack of taste, I think. However, I liked Bowling for Columbine, I liked it a lot, even when I realised some parts made me want to kill Moore, generally I thought the movie raised many interesting points, and it had it's funny moments.

But yeah, definately there are more objective sources of information.
