Personally, this scares me how idiotic our country has gotten...now people can't even joke around anymore because people in this country(especially in the southern reigon, like Texas, which isn't suprising) are so uptight and 'scared' and quite frankly, being stupid...now while the guy was being stupid (in a different way) was he making a terror threat by wearing a ski mask? Does that mean I'm not allowed to walk into a store wearing a ski mask if I so desire? So now I can't wear what I want? Where'd the 1st amendment go?

This is so stupid and sickening to me...what do you think? Do you think they were right for arresting this guy and he really did something horrible? I sure don't...a little stupid maybe, but nothing to get arrested for.
    I like Kung-Fu.

Borderline case in my opinion. When someone walks into a store in the middle of summer wearing a ski mask, it's not unreasonable to assume they're up to something. Might've been better had they arrested him and let him go with a small fine though. I don't know about the year in jail.

I say the guy deserves a year in jail but shouldn't get it. He didn't do anything wrong...but he is an idiot, I love jokes and commedy but it wasn't funny, not not funny in the bad morals way but just the not funny way..honestly how was that supposed to make anyone bust a gut? he walks into a store with a ski mask! OMG! HA HA! come on I need a good joke I don't see the humor. I can see what the judge was thinking:

"Wow....this guy has no respect for law and order what so ever, he thinks he can walk into a store with a ski mask to purposely make the clerk think that he/she was being robbed, waste the time of the police who could be doing more important things, and get away from it because he was trying to be funny? A year in jail will make him think about his jokes more carefully."

Because respecting other people's faith is not at all what America is about and all those heathens should be driven out of the country.

Well, while it was a pretty stupid idea, the fact that he is getting such a harsh punishment is incredibly disgusting. But, about what I've come to expect from a country that sends the CIA after a young boy who's drawing anti-Bush pictures.

Oh my God! Terrorist threat, no doubt!

Seriosuly, I think the whole idea to be stupid, but the fact he was arrested for that and may go to jail is just pathetic. Very, very pathetic. In fact, it looks like a Monty Python comedy.

Uh...you are not serious about that, are you? Did I miss something?

It was definitly a stupid thing to do, but it doesnt deserve this huge blow up. It's common sense not to do that when half the country is having constant anxiety attacks over this mostly-imagined and much sensationalized foe.

And this is a free country, and we are free to wear whatever we please. As I've proven many many times on my adventures.

Imagined? You mean, Ossama bin Laden is like this creepy guy they tell kids about, to make them finish their meals?

How many terrorist attacks have we had since then? How many terrorist attacks have been on US soil? How much proof do we have that there have been any plots, any thoughts of another attack? The threat is there, but the magnitude is mostly imagined. People are scared to death over mostly nothing, most especially because if it's going to happen, it's going to happen.

Right. However, I must remind you of something: If you see a guy with a ski mask, he's a terrorist. NO DOUBT. And if he enters a shop, it means thousands of people are going to die. Logic!

The terrorist bit was verry stupid, but you have to agree that if you saw a guy walk into a 7-11 with a ski mask on, you would thinnk he was going to rob the place. This then made the clerk panic and call the cops, this then wasted their precious time. Say an armed robber broke into your house and you called the police....TOO BAD! the last unit was dispatched to a 7-11 to stop an idiot in a ski mask...guess your going to have to wait a while longer, hope he doesn't bumb into you and shoot you.

None. But do you know how many attempts? And maybe those who defend you are simply doing a great job - ever thought of that? It's pretty ignorant and naive to think that just because your sworn enemy (and believe me, they've sworn) has not struck you, that you're clear out of danger.

Oh, and while the USA has been left un-touched for more than two years (wow, so long! ), the rest of the world has suffered from inecessant terroristic attacks. So, it's still out there, whether it has gotten to you again or not, and whether you choose to do something about it, or not.

I do believe Americans have gone slightly out of line with this thing of 'war on terrorism'... but, it's bound to die off eventually, and you'll go into what you could call a 'rational elimination mode'. That is, knowing who your enemy is, doing what you have to do to destroy it, and not getting carried away. Things have cooled down since 911, and you'll get used to that routine of having to battle terrorism, and various other threats.

As for the case itself - he's clearly a moron. He should be fined, heavilly if need be, and that's it. But, seeing as he didn't commit a crime... no jail time, I think.

Uh..yes, I'd probably call the police, but if he was not going to do anything bad, then he should just be released. Is it against the law to enter a shop with a ski mask? Did he do anything bad, asides from a slight annoyance and being an idiot? No. He entered there, the owner got scared, called the cops, the cops arrested him, it was all a misunderstanding...the end. Or is there a law against misunderstanding? If I give children I don't know a bag of sweets just because I feel like it, do I get arrested for doing something that may look like it has bad intentions behing it? (You know, give them candy for further kidnapping or sexual abuse or something). Same here, only entering a shop with that mask is worse than giving children candy, but nothing to deserve more than a few glares and a "if we get you again being an idiot you'll be fined". Not prision, for God's sake.
