Thoughts on Omega?

Im up to the one that you fight after bahumet. It is possible to beat him without ultimate weapons and hero's no? I have i just wanted to beat him without them. Any tips or strategys dont feel like reading all the long posts.

That's very good (I don't like Lion Heart, heros and stuff like that).
I don't know how good your party is but using Cerberus is a good way to start the battle. You can cast shell + Aura on party and if 2 person is dead at once, then use double full life.

Omega Weapon should have been harder. Or maybe they shouldn't have made Lionheart such a good move. Though watching Tonberry attack him was hilarious. Yay.

Omega should have acted like Ultima did (hyper randomness). then it would have been a proper challenge, an Ultima with 1 million hp. of course Zell could still beat it with one Armageddon fist

ok first of all you don't need 100 heroes. I believe there is a game faq online that shows you how to beat it without becoming invincible. I've done it....I only wish that I could prove it. I don't remember the fight exactly but....every move omega does is in sequence....memorize the sequence and try to get perfect timing...i believe it took me 2000000 times to get it down. But GF is your friend here! When you are summoning them during the attack that goes well above 9999 HP make sure that you are summoning and it takes out your GF. You don't need them anyway. I beat him with Squall, Rinoa, and Irvine. Cause their limits are the ones that cause the most damage! Squall's Lionheart, Rinoas Wishing Star, and Irvines, Pulse or Ap Ammo. Rinoa is a must though because sometimes she will either cast wishing star or Invincible Moon! I know its random but in order to save your laguna card you have to take some chance. finally make sure that aura is plent and haste is cast. Thats it....good luck.....its damn near imossible but its always worth a try.....

Rinoa - 100
Irvine - 100

All GF's equipped, and all ultimate weapons.

Ummmmm... I guess you didn't read the other posts? Seriously... anyone who CAN'T beat Omega Weapon without hero-items is... *cough*not very good at FFVIII*cough*

Ok... well, don't worry... I would trust ANYONE who say that he have beaten Omega without hero... because it's really very easy. Don't use GFs to protect against Terra break, use the command Defend! (I did it with GFs+protect the first time I beat him and he was still very easy).
The only time you need GFs on Omega is when you figth him and not have 9999 hp on your characters and have to use them to defend against Megido Flame.

1) Zell have the most dammaging limmit break. 2) I beated Omega blindfolded with this party: Squall, Quistis and Irvine and I did NOT have lionheart + no heros where used during the battle. However... blindfolded was nothing but pice of cake compared to my no junctioning challange... now THAT'S damn near impossible (but its always worth a try ) and I have done it! (so has Rubedo). This means that you only junction Command Abilities. No stats junctioning or str+60%, auto haste or stuff like that... ONLY commands... like Defend, magic, GF, item etc. That require max luck and max skill...now THAT it hard as crap.

I really hate that attack and I never use it. It shouldn't have been made into the game.

I also forgot to mention that the no-junctioning thing does not include drawable GFs, therefore you can't boost stats etc and only the first weapons were used. And trust me... both Ultima and Omega is hell when faced that way.

I don't use it either. My real life "no luck" causes me to rarely ever get it, even when all other characters are KOed, and Selphie's in critical condition will negative status effects.

Yes... the thing is... you can't get them. I made a FFVIII challange tread a long time ago and it was to beat FFVIII without junctioning anything else but the commands, without drawing from encounters/bosses/enemies of any kind, without refining cards + only use each characters first weapon.

And then you could try to take on Omega and Ultima weapon while playing this challange. And since you can't get the drawable GFs, that means you can't get the abilities that's required to refine status boosting items. Only stats boosting items that you can get is the ones that you win from battle.

note: you should be level 99 when figthing Omega this way, not 100 because of level5 death.
