Default 3D model of Auron (images)

Hehe, I recreated Auron in Second Life (a 3D world where you can basically be whatever you want to be and live in this huge virtual world. It's becoming very popular.)

It's only a first attempt, so don't expect much (detail or accuracy), but thought I'd show it here

BTW, the link for Second Life is http://www.secondlife.com (you have to be over 18 at the moment to join)

that's good but my question is: Why is he wearing a cone like injured dog that his stitches and is he floating?
    Too big.

Because it's a first attempt and only took like 45 mins

There are also issues in the clothing engine that somewhat restrict your ability to create the original clothing styles. The "dog cone" is an attempt at his collar, but rather than actually being a collar part of clothing (SL clothing doesn't support huge collars), it's just a hollowed cylinder with shearing on one of the ends and then attached to the neck. The only decent way to recreate it will be with multiple shapes, which will take a little more time... at least a texture of the "real" collar would help somewhat.

The 4th pic is in Second Life context... you can fly, sorta Peter Pan style.

Looks good, but I think he looks more like Kim Jong Il.

That is pretty cool, I find 3D modelling quite difficult so I'm impressed.
This would belong in the Arts & Writing forum though =) *moves*

I'm on a maya crash course. Should be learning some detailed character modelling soon.

Something like Maya should be good for it, good luck with the course

I'm greatly hindered by the game's character design mechanics, which is why it looks pretty, um, poor (Though I was happy with the face - you can't see it very well on the shots, but I managed to recreate the "sunken" look especially around the mouth area fairly well considering, and the tools available were flexible enough to do his bad eye.) Unfortunately, even though it's extremely flexible beyond what you'd see in most other virtual worlds... it wouldn't come close to a good 3D program. Hope to learn myself some day.

I would'nt call it poor. You did a good job there.
