Default Problems playing games on Laptop

Some games will not work because of the lack of a NumPad.

In FFVII, for example, I can't even start the game! I tried copying my ff7input.ini to another computer and it worked to begin with (EDIT: by moving the controls to the main board). Now, however, I can't select a name because you can't select what you have without the numpad feature!

Is there any way to emulate the numpad on a Laptop or go around this problem?

You can buy a num pad that plugs into the USB. Dunno if that'll help though.

Apparently, you can create a NumPad with Fn + F8 in most cases on the actual keyboard. But thanks anyway.

Or try turning the numlock on If you look at the keys, you should see some have the numpad thing printed on them as well, and they're only active when numlock is active Numlock on my particular laptop is shift scroll-lock.
