I don't know if I'll actually end up playing, mind you, but we'll see how things go. I'm all excited about this already, I can't wait for everything to go ahead. I have so many ideas. But I have no idea how to do some stuff until everything's going ahead, so we'll see how things go. I think I have around 24 potential leaders right now - I'm hoping to have between 20 and 40 regions, so keep them coming. The leaders with the most votes pick their starting region first, but that doesn't mean people with one vote (or none? o_o) can't get a region of their own.

Government Type: Militocracy/Autocracy. (Due to the strategic importance of the area, there is a high military presence. While a parliament does exist, it has no real power, as the military could overrule the ministers by force at any time. Since the Field Marshal is head of the army, he is in effect the ruler. The regime is by no means harsh, but the secret police certainly are.)
Name of Region: Czanthoshire.
Values: Order among the people. Military supremacy over rival nations. Also supports strong scientific and industrial development. Leisure-wise, the government are keen on promoting competitive sport and daily public smitings.
Against: Globalisation, Anarchy, Environmentalism, Elephants.
Plans: To add extra fortification to the major city, St. Mehsburg. To establish mag-lev transport links between Czanthoshire and neighbouring states. To win the world lacrosse championship within the next 3 years.
Propaganda: Look at the facts. Our nation has only been attacked once since Czanthoshire's military took over, and that invasion was quickly crushed by our 'Irony Curtain' defence system. What we need is a strong, united nation, and Czanthor can provide it. Not to mention that Czanthoshire has had 45% better weather since he came to power, and Carbon Dioxide emissions have increased tenfold. If you're looking for global warming, Czanthor'll provide it!

It's impossible to rig these elections by asking people to vote for you as alliances are allowed in politics.

As for all this talk about voting: We're drawing up a map and will divide it into a certain amount of regions, hopefully 20-40. The members will then vote on which leaders they like the most, and the leaders with most votes will have priority pickings when choosing their starting regions. After that, well, wait and see for now because we're still working on the details, obviously. Proto and I have only had a few chats while settings things up and my main priority at the moment is getting everyone moving and drawing up the draft map (which is almost done) so Proto can make a cgi of it.

EDIT: I really need to emphasise that this is NOTHING to do with the map or the thread that Proto started. It's just expanding on the idea. This will be sort of an interactive world.

Some people are promoting things like airships, summoners, Final Fantasy XI and other such things when they don't even know if they'll exist in this world. =o

Name of Region: United Realms of Vanian
Values: Nationality, territorial interests, strategic alliances, exploration.
Against: Orderless lands, restrictive borders, enforced religion.
Plans: To establish somesort of council, with which other countries can meet and discuss the plans of the world. Closer to home, I intend to merge the individual houses that rule over parts of URoV into one, with each Marquess controlling specific elements (i.e. education, military strength, defence). Within the year, borders with other countries will have more effective fortification and the town of Lycia to be upgraded to an industrial centre.
