I had the same problem as you do. I was actually mad at square, for a time, because I didn't want a sequel. I loved the way it ended, and I didn't want them to go back, and ruin it.

I still bought the game though. I didn't play it for about a month, because I still wasn't sure I wanted to. The first time i tried to play it, I shut it off immediately after I saw the opening. I thought my head was going to explode. But a couple days later, I got through it, played a little more.

Don't get me wrong, it's a good game, but not exactly FF quality. One of the main things it has going for it is that it's so dang fun! I love the battle system. You really have to be paying attention, not just clicking on the x button every couple of seconds.

Yeah, the 'girlpower' thing can be fairly overwhelming, but I got over it. My only real complaint is that I don't exactly like what they did to Yuna's character. At all. They made her something which I don't think is 'Yuna.' That bothers me.

But the storyline is very good. You want to know more, you want to find out about these charcters, and you care what happens to them. I've heard people complain about how there are very little cgs. Well, yeah, that's true, but they're a LOT longer than anything in 10's save for the ending. (plus, the luca theater is still there)

Okay...um, this went on far longer than I thought. Hope that helped you some. I would rent first. Although I don't regret buying it one bit, it's not everyone's cup of tea.
