    Default Missing Ruby?

This is interesting. I've fought and defeated both the Ultima Weapon and the Emerald Weapon on disc 3, but the Ruby Weapon hasn't appeared in the desert around Gold Saucer. The man in Kalm is whining about the Desert Rose.

Maybe I shouldn't have defeated the Emerald Weapon before taking on the Ultima Weapon. Or maybe I should have killed the Ultima Weapon on disc 2.

    Any suggestions?

Hmm...unless I'm not remembering correctly, Ruby is supposed to show up automatically in disc 3(and after you beat Ultima on disc 2, if you do so). If Ruby's not showing up for you on disc 3, there's something wrong.

First question: are you SURE you killed Ultima? Not defeated, killed.

If not that, are you sure he's not showing up at all? Fly around Gold Saucer as low as you can.

    If not THAT, I dunno.

that's really weird, even if he didn't completely kill ultima, ruby should be there on disc 3, maybe the model is glitched or something... I'd try sitting in the desert a little while maybe he's there but just not showing up (weirder glitches have happened in games)

has ruby appeared any other times you've played or is this the first time you've played on this copy of the game?

Yeah I killed him, he dropped to the ground and made a huge crater near Cosmo Canyon. I've done the flyover before and after killing Ultima. No sign of Ruby.

This is about my fourth time playing FFVII. Every other time I killed Ultima on disc 2 and Ruby appeared.

It's not that I really need the prize. But it bothers me if the game doesn't allow me to do things out of order. All three Weapons are completely optional, so the game should let me defeat them in any order.

If I remember correctly, something similar happened to me. But I went on doing some more sidequests and exploring the game (on disc 3), and eventually I returned and Ruby was there.

If it still doesn't happen, try flying with the Highwind close to the ground, covering all desert ground. Maybe she's there and you can't see her because of a glitch, as mentioned.

Hmm...maybe you need something else for Ruby to appear and I've just forgotten about it.

Just fight a random battle and Ruby should appear.

Aha! The single battle suggestion worked. Kind of similar to the need to fight random battles between breeding chocobos. Thanks!
