    Default The Democratic National Convention.

    Three cheers for Jimmy Carter.

In deference to traditional thread operating procedure i'll suggest discussion of the convention, but what more needs to be said?

Over 30 million was spent on security for the convention this year in Boston. The security personnel number more than 3000 people.

Yet they still let in Gore.

I really don't care for it. Weren't these conventions used for establishing the party platform before? Now it's just a big show with big stars and big screen TVs.

    That's politics in general.

    Default Mouthful.

For politics to ever truly accomplish its ends we'd have to cut all the politics out.

Carter holds my appreciation for being a statesman. He was a rock of apolitical politics, of true nobility and poise, amidst what amounted to something between a rock concert and an all-star game. He's always been that, and that's why he eventually failed as a politician.
