Well, after that brief moment of voting, we gained a full 0 votes from 0 members - leaving every single member tied! Golly! So, in these dire circumstances, Proto and I have taken it upon ourselves to choose the most deserving members to become the leaders of the 22 (yeah, we cut one out for convenience...) nations of the world! To figure out who was most deserving, we checked who had actually posted in the threads outside the join-up thread, and there you have it, 22 leaders, nice'n'easy. The regions will be adjusted tonight. Not to be harsh on the world, though, we've also added in a tiny little island in the middle of nowhere so that Proto and I can hang out there and watch over you and nuke your country if you do something wrong). Now, as for the ordering, well, we decided to go postal on that one. Here we go...

As stated, the regional map should be later tonight GMT, so hopefully we can get people choosing where they'd like to begin by then. Either way, we hope we've made the world good enough for everyone, no matter what region they end up in. So long as you can develop your region, we're sure you'll have fun. Once the regions have all been selected (and the exact locations of each city), we'll remove the regional borders, put up a map with your starting town/city/village/brothel/whatever it is, and we'll allow each one of you to start your own thread and get on track. =D

Devin: Keep in mind that the first 21 leaders are the only leaders that bothered to post outside the join-up thread.

Remember that by selecting a region you do not OWN the region, you merely get to place your first town/city within that region. This is so all the nations will end up fairly well seperated.

Selections may begin, however if you have any questions regarding the geography, you might want to ask them first. Eg, which area is similar to a jungle out of an Indiana Jones movie (region 7) and which is a rainforest full of birds covering a lot of fjords (region 1). The deserts should be obvious, while region 16 has a lot of ice and snow. 6 is like the Bahamas, 20 is far from it - just a lot of islands covered with grasslands, forests and hills in a good fishing zone. While region 9 has a couple of volcanoes, it's region 21 that has the real mean mother of a blow-top mountain. The blue marks over some red boundaries show where sea travel will first be allowed. You won't be able to travel from region 8 to region 15 until we allow complete ocean travel.

If you want a full description of any region, let me know. Keep in mind that this picking type thing might take a few days.

Posting is good, it helps everyone else.

Region 7's center is effectively the leftovers of a very, very big volcano blast. This volcano is now dormant and shouldn't worry anyone unless they decide to dig to the other end of the Earth. However, there's a lot of volcanic rock and it certainly helped the place become more fertile what with all the ash, hence the small continent (or large island?) is almost completely covered in a thick rainforest. Hooray for the Amazon.
