I've got a few free minutes to kill, so I thought I'd hop on the forums and make a thread for the first time in a while.

A couple weeks ago, I went with my girlfriend's family to a small restaurant off the beaten path of I-80 in Utica, IL called The Cajun Connection. Among the specialties served there was something called Gator Bites. Yeah, gator.

I was reluctant to try some, but I didn't have much choice after my girlfriend's stepdad ordered some for me. As it turned out, it wasn't so bad after all. It tasted something like a mix of chicken and calamari. More like chicken, though, since all meats taste like chicken to some degree.

So first, if you're in that area, I highly recommend you check that place out. Second, it begs the question of whether anyone has tried munchin' on a little something like gator. Rabbit, maybe? Deer? Duck, perhaps?
