Default Final Fantasy II (Origins) Do your guys mature?

Does your party 'mature' as they do in Final Fantasy I? If so, at what stage do they mature?

If you're referring to the class change, then no. There is no job system in FFII, thus there is no class change. If you're talking about levelling up, that doesn't happen either. You increase stats by using them.

As previously stated, the advancement of your characters is totally dependant on the way you personally play them.

All the characters of FFII are already grown up at the start. They just have those big NES heads, which make them look like children.

They're not big NES heads. It has nothing to do with the NES. That's just how they were drawn. It's called SD (Super Deformed) style. Many of you are probably familiar with SD Gundam.

Amano's art would say contrary to that.

I believe the "Super Deformed" look was simply the best option with the NES's graphic limitations.

true^ i personally don't like the way the "matured" characters look in FF1. the normal guys were better

Amano did the character design, not the character graphics. Square kept the SD character look right up until FFVIII. Even in FFVII they retained it.
