Iam new at this forum and I hope my English isnt too bad

I have a big problem with FF8! At the moment when the two Gardens should start a fight to each other (disc 2 ), by me it happens nothing! A friend told me that the 2 Gardens start a fight automaticly when I enter the Island. I cant even enter the house on that Island and the tower too.
The friend told me that he had the same bug and he started the game from the beginning. But I have played it for 70 hours and I wont start it again because I spend so much time to it. As I said I flew to the island where the garden is over the forest. I fly toward it and the when the fight should start nothing happens. I installed the game new but the same bug (?) again! Has someone problems with the same bug?
Please help me, I want to finish this great game!
