Can you really max out a character????

I did it. But capturing 5 of every monster, winning +4 spheres and getting all those levels took me forever. But I killed Yu Yevon in one hit. xD

why do you need luck anyway, i had 4 luck on everybody and i have beaten every boss in the game ( including penance)

I find impossible to believe that. Beating Dark Yojimbo without luck being 100 is impossible unless you cheat. None of your attacks hit him until your luck reaches 68. That's the fact. I you don't beat him, there is no Penance, period.
I did it, I maxed everybody's stats to 255, that was the hell, I should say. It took me 120h. lol
And yes, I killed the final boss in one blow. Although Penance was difficult even with 255s.

Well, I killed Dark Yojimbo with my Bahamut... who used magic. So that IS possible. ...Oh, yea... I guess you can kill Penance with magic to... but maxing the magic stats to 255 just takes to much time.(stupid jumbo flan!)

really? I haven't tried that. My chars could withstand anything and summons were killed in 2 hits usually, lol.

oh there is no way u could beat penance with magic, even at 255. it still does so little you would not be able 2 kill the arms. you would get pounded by all the mega gravitons, never mind judgement day

Seriously... I think it IS possible (there I go again :rolleyes2 ). 255magic, (or why not 500? lol) + that magic turbo thing that boost magic cost AND dammage... and then if you double cast Ultima with all that... with all your characters... then it should be possible... since Ultima hits all the targets. With double cast and 255+ turbo I actually think Ultima could do something like 180,000 to the arms (but much less to Penance himself) also, double cast Ultima cooldown is not as slow as Ultima cooldown... so it should work.

If the max isn't 255 (FF), then the highest after would technically be 65535 (FFFF), unless specifically capped by the creator of the game.

Anyway, since I don't have access to Dark Aeons and such, I guess I have no more to say for now .

you really don't need luck to beat dark yojimbo, its just as easy, but you have to aim 5 times or so, then you can finally hit him....

I maxed all my characters stats except luck because I got sick of fighting Earth Eater. I raised my luck stats to around 160 and even then half of my hits would miss when fighting dark Yojimbo. So you do need luck...
