Can you really max out a character????

I want to know if anyone has got 255 on all stats on Final Fantasy 10. It almost seems frickin impossible. I have almost all spheres filled up and it just doesn't seem possible.

By changing crapy spheres into good ones and completing the sphere grid, Im at 500 something strength

Delete crapy things that add 1 or 2 to stats and replace them with spheres that add 4

You can go around the Sphere Grid and replace all <+4 stat nodes with +4 stat nodes. Then you can fill all the empty nodes. If you do it correctly, you can max out everyone's non HP and MP stats and have about 50,000ish HP per character (and you'll have over 999MP with just going over the unaltered sphere grid, which is more than enough). Then when you go into battle use a Stamina Tablet (or whatever doubles your HP) and you have max stats. Takes a while to do though, especially if you are wanting to max out Luck.

Dude ok for one its not that someone told me that the max 255 but, thats as high as I can go I didn't know u can go higher. So whats the point of having 500 strength when you can pretty much do 99,999 damage at like 200 somethin strength????

When you don't use the celestial weapons because the add ons suck. Then you don't do 99,999 damage to everything with only 200 str.

Okay well on other weapons tho u can still add on break damage limit with piercing and I am pretty sure even around 200 strength you can do 99,999 damage. I think I just created one of those and can do 99,999 damage.

u will not being doing 99999 per hit even at 255 str to the hardest enemies like dark aeons, nemesis and penance unless u have celestial weapons.

and what tastey pies means is u can go past 255 but the firgue still remains at 255. u can continue 2 activate nodes for a stat at 255 and the stat will continue 2 grow.

anyway, yes its possible to get all the stats 2 read 255 though u cant get anywhere near 99999 hp and 9999 mp if u do this. though 2 be honest the only stat that is hard 2 get 255 for is luck because it takes a long time, though u only really need 120 luck to beat all the bossess.

Oh, and I had a strat that could kill Greater sphere very fast... but I've forgoten what it was...

Hmmm... ok, I think I remember it now... (note: this strat requires Anima with 255 str, 255def, pretty good agility and about 28,000-30,000hp) and his overdrive must be ready.
Also, Anima must have learned Protect, Curaga and haste.
Greater Spheres def really sux and he's pretty slow. 1) Summon Anima. 2) Have Anima cast haste on himself. Now, Anima should have atleast about 3 turns left before Greater Sphere can do anything. 3)Cast protect. 4) Use Oblivion (this will do extremely much dammage)! This will be countered by Hydro press and Anima will lose about 48% of his hp. Greater Sphere will do 1 more move since the Oblivion cooldown is very slow. Greater sphere may do Hydro press again but you will survive (if Anima have the rigth stats) and no matter what, your Overdrive should be ready once more! 5) Cure with Curaga until you'r fully recovered.(yea, I almost forgot... Animas mag stats should be atleast 210). You should be able to use Curaga some times before Greater Sphere does his next move. Then, before Greater sphere get the turn, use Oblivion again! Repeat this once more and you should finish Greater sphere.

note: this strat should not take much more time than reading this post did!

thats a cool one and i think my Anima is about that hard. i normally do a thing with Wakka's attack reels 2 beat him but its slightly longer.

would u say Greater Sphere is good enough 2 b a top twenty super boss? i mean he is potentially harder then Nemesis if u dont know what your doing.

Maybe... Hydro press is very powerfull and Greater sphere counter all overdrives with it... and since he counters all normal attacks with Ultima...
Oh, and Neslug is a badass as well.
