Rikku lost her maturity?
I often hear a lot of complainments that she's lost her maturity, simply because she's more free-going in then in X. I don't believe so at all. While Rikku is more hyper, and somewhat more ditzy in X-2, she still shows signs of maturity in the game. The fact that she acts like that is simply letting her true inner self out, perfectly harmless if you ask me.
You gotta' have something to lose it in the first place.
Give her a break, she's only 16/17 (FFX/FFX-2).

Well in my openion she was ditzy the entire time. Of course I've never played the games. (I don't have a ps2) But none the less she seems really mature in Suteki Da Ne. Which I downloaded from EoFF

I agree, Rikku seems a lot less intelligent and mature than she is in the first game.
In FFX, she's intelligent and serious, as well as independent and resourceful. In X-2, she's much more giggly and clueless, and doesn't seem capable of being serious about even the most deadly of situations. As an example, observe her comments during the final battles.
However, she's still distinctly herself, and Tara Strong is just as good an actor as she was before. I just wish that Rikku's strong points from the first game - her compassion and her technical knowledge - had been given a chance to shine in X-2.

I think that Rikku is acting less tense. in all of X, everybody feared for their lives all the time because of Sin. Sin being defeated allowed everyone to lighten up and relax. this kindof explains why Yuna's wardrobe dramatically changes too. now she has legs =P
it's also safe to say that Rikku is too relaxed. i agree she's more goofy than she was in X. maybe she's just more slutty is all. her clothes say so.
I agree... in X-2, Yuna mentions that Spira's people are more upbeat, that they're taking the time to enjoy themselves now that Sin's ever-present menace is gone. Rikku could be seen as an 'embodiment' of that change.
I'm not so sure. She's wearing less, certainly, but very little she ever says or does suggests any kind of promiscuous tendencies.maybe she's just more slutty is all. her clothes say so.
That's what I thought was weird. They're all wearing such revealing, exotic clothes, but they go about Spira as if there was nothing going on. In real life, all the guys would gawking and drooling, but I guess that's life of the video game world, nobody cares what you were, they'll still act exactly the same
Rikku is only 17, she's still a teenager. In FFX I think that she was too mature, having to deal with the ongoing threat of Sin and trying to stop Yuna's quest, along with helping the Al Bhed to stop summoners. Now that everything is alright, she can be the person that she really is, outside of the stress of FFX. She's mature enough for her age, she can just be as mature as she is now, not as mature as she needed to be in FFX.
All of you make very excellent points, except the for the ''slutty'' thing.
Slutty?O.o....If you run around in X you'll notice that some of the Al Behds wear stuff that reminds me alot of bondage and reveil more of what should be covered then what Rikku does.I think its just the Al Behd style tuned down a bit

I think just about anyone in FFX-2 lost their self-respect. Exceptions would be Wakka, Lulu and Paine since she wasn't in FFX anyway. It's too japanese for my liking.

the point of the girls looking hot but not being raped because it's a videogame, well also, if you really look at the game, Spira is an anarchy really. yes yes they had maesters, but even then lands were very lawless. its just not expected for anyone to have sick thoughts. the only evil in the world (of the game) are villains destroying the world and stuff. no sexual satisfaction is attempted. so it's like, even the villains are humane in that they aren't rapists. and yes Seymour kinda forced yuna to marry him, but that still isn't exactly sex. the concept of sex barely exists in the games. they're a place of innocence that couldnt ever be achieved in reality.
BACK TO THE POINT - Rikku is less tense because she can just live life now. for all we know she was really that way all along on the inside but she had to surpress that to be serious and save lives before.
Yeah I totally agree! Maybe she just has to act mature because of circumstances. I mean, how can you be goofing off at a time like changing Spira?
