Aaaahem. Anyway, about the whole lead thing, yeah, I heard it is a way to stop radiation, or something along those lines. However, my great source of information is The Simpsons, so I don't know if it's very reliable information, even if those series have really wise lines such as "Lisa, don't think, we already elect the politicans to think for us!".

As far as this dealy Goes, basic quantum theory pretty much sums up the complete destruction of anything but particles sent "through time", and if i remember correctly, it also states only Forward Travel would be possible. unless you are a prescriber to the Multiverse Theory, in which case the sailor coulda popped out the wrong hole and been yelling about the future of a universe in which hitler destroyed all of the allys and the only americans left are in a bunker conducting research.
