wait a sec.....what is this business about not equipping materia against emerald? I never heard about this, well probably since its been forever since ive played FF7...but yeah whats the story behind the low materia thing?

His Aire Tam attack is based on how much materia the character being attacked has equipped (look at the attack name backwards). I'm not exactly sure how it works, because I've heard many different theories, but it does about 1000HP damage per equipped orb (I've also read that it does 1100 and 1111).

    ---EDIT---
Oh, and I say "character being attacked" because, even though it attacks everyone, it doesn't go by all of their materia combined. So, it's possible for Cloud to only take 1000 (or whatever) while Tifa (if she's in your party) could take 9999 damage for having too much materia.

definetly ruby since i needed the master summon materia i got from emerald to defeat ruby, plus you can just kill emerald by getting all lucky sevens

When in "Lucky 7s" mode, you'll only attack 63 times with damage of 7777 each. 63*7777=489951. Emerald has more HP than that, so it would take a little bit more after Lucky 7s is done. I read by some person who tested this, that when all three are in "Lucky 7s" at the same time, C1 will attack 61 time, C2 will attack once, and C3 will attack once. So, even will all three of them at Lucky 7s, you'll still only attack 63 times (but if they get Lucky 7s separately...).

All this information is from that guy who tested it...I can't remember his name, but don't credit me for it, if it happens to be correct.

yes but when i did this i had already knocked a lot of his health off with KOTR and mime

The hardest Weapon for me is Ruby because i fight it with just Cloud alone. I let him whirlsand my two other characters and then start pummeling him with some KOT after i take out his claws. Emerald isn't so tough, all you have to is have a mastered final attack and link it with a mastered phoenix and have it ready for his airetam storm and you'll be fine. Same goes for Ruby but instead of a phoenix you have a mastered revive materia on Cloud! All theirs left is the fact that every time you use KOT on Ruby he'll counter with comet2 or Ultima, so thats why you put on a Mystile in your armour slot and all of his magic attacks will miss and he'll go down after a while.

None of them were particulary hard, persay, but if I must choose one then it'd be Emerald, as the method I use needs a lot of preperation.

Ruby is much harder than emerald if you don't use KOTR.

I say that the emerald weapon is harder because well its just to damn scary for one! And another thing the time thing is kind of a big problem unless you get the underwater materia, either way the emerald is harder. :shoot:

Defeated both and i can say emerald....with ruby theres a pattern i did....took ages but still hard...emerald has that whole 20 mins thing...so yea i can say emerald is harder.

But i saw this Jap video of this guy beating emerald easily onl using one of barrets limit...not sure of the materia combinations but it was crazy....barret just kept doig his limit until it died!

Ruby is much harder, because there's only one easy tactic to beat him - Hades(paralyze him). Yes, Hades and W-Summon make Ruby very easy, but try beating him without those for a REAL challenge.

For Emmy, there's literally dozens. Also, Omnislash and other Limits work very well against Emmy, whereas they're all-but worthless against Ruby. Emmy's a cake-walk.

Honestly I don't know what you are all talking about. They are both relatively easy. Ruby has defense and status effects. Counter with pandoras box, a ribbon, and constant healing by any characters left in the battle (providing you were using the common strategy to beat ruby). Emerald is just one big powerhouse. All he does is drain Mp and kill your characters which is easily countered with a combo of a mastered mp absorb, mastered phoenix and mastered final attack, mastered phoenix. When one of your characters die this way you get to revive any fallen characters and absorb Mp in the process. Getting back to the topic though in my opinion Ruby was the hardest because casting pandoras box about 500000000 times was very time consuming. Otherwise all weapons are relatively easy when equipted properly. (Oh and if you needed to know my FF7 file has over 150 hours on it.)

Emerald is harder since he requires more planning. I had to work out how to beat him with only 5 materia, and that was tough. With Ruby I could at least throw EXP plus and Gil plus on there.
