That's not totally true, SRL.
Example: I love Final Fantasy. It is my all time favorite VG series out there. If I had to choose between FFVI and the 2 DMCs, KH, Xenosaga and Xenogears, I would end up choosing FFVI. However, if someone didn't like FFs, then I'd totally understand. I know that some people would find it tedious and repetitious and I can understand that. My neighbor abhors Final Fantasys, but I understand why because he likes action oriented games.

Now that's something I can relate to. Understanding and accepting that someone might feel otherwise about something you really love, is really a great asset to anyone. Pursuing anyone with attacking arguments doesn't help anyone :/Originally Posted by SomethingBig

Wow, I obviously left too much to implication in my last post. I guess I need to be more specific or something. Ok. What I was trying to say is that some of the things Lain was saying for reasons she hated Yuna were like taking a nibble of cheesecake instead of a whole bite. Lain said she didn't like Yuna's outfit and shoes, she didn't like Yuna's voice acting, she thought Yuna was easy. A lot of people saw those as nibbles. I think some of the people who posted thought that Lain's hate for Yuna was misconstrued and ill thought, and they were trying to broaden Lain's thoughts on the subject so that she could make a well-rounded judgement here instead of a partial judgement based on her appearance, and how she sounded. If she still hated Yuna after the fact, then there you go. I don't think it's that Lain hates Yuna, I think it's the reason why Lain hates Yuna that put people in defensive position.
To understand and accept that people feel differently than you about a subject is one thing, to understand and accept why is another. I was referring to the "why" not the "that."Originally Posted by Rini
Yuna's aeons saved my ass on more than one occasion. Therefore I cannot hate her. With her aeons she is one of the most powerful characters in any FF game, if not the most powerful.

Shes 17 yes but she had to grow up without a mother since who knows when and without a father at age 10. Given that, I think someone should mature more quickly. Theres my two cents.

And she's very mature.
OK, after reading all this crap on how much Yuna sucks, lets go over the main topics that people have complained about shall we?
Voice: Hey, at least they are actually talking in this game, unlike the FF's before. There were too many 'okay's and 'you knows', but overall I though the voice-over was a job well done. If you disagree, let's see you try it
Appearance: Her outfit fit her attitude and the role that her character was supposed to play. At least she didn't have body parts falling out all over the place (until X-2 when Square became desperate).
Fighting Abilities: What Del Murder said. Try finishing the final battle w/o those aeons. Good friggin luck.
Take my love, take my land
Take me where I cannot stand
I don't care, I'm still free
You can't take the sky from me
Take me out to the black
Tell them I ain't comin' back
Burn the land and boil the sea
You can't take the sky from me
There's no place I can be
Since I found Serenity
But you can't take the sky from me...

Bottom line, like someone else said, its hard to find fault with something you like, but its hard to accept others' opinions because they are not yours.

Once you get to the Dark Aeons and have super-trained your team, normal aeons kind of become obsolete. The only time I use them is to block overdrive attacks from Dark Aeons. Also, because there is only one of them you don't get enough turns.
there was a picture here
I do admit that I have never gotten to that point. But up until then Yuna's Aeons rule.

I didn't like Yuna. I thought she was too desperate to have everybody like her and she seemed groveling. I thought she was boring and a bit of a dork, and i to didn't like some of her outfit, i thought the shoes and the skirt were frumpy.
Aww.... Yunie....
well... i think i have a tendency to overlook the main characters.. cuz i usually felt they weren't that great... i didn't really like Yuna too... but not to the extent of "damn seeing her puts a bad taste in my mouth"
but i feel her outfit's cool!! i kinda wish everyone could walk down the streets in whatever they want to.. right now.. it seems so far away...
the voice over seems a little.. out of place.. but thats just a consequence of having dubbing... a reason why most of my pals prefer anime in their original language (with subtitles of course) but still its a worthy attempt.. (i'm sure it could have been worst.. much worst) so i gotta give some credit ya?
anyway.. overall i'll give english dubbed Yuna a 7/10 overall.. Rikku's still the best for me
oh yes!! i think i remember something about... yuna's eyes following the lights of a PS2 when its on? something about the creators having that in mind before they designed the characterkinda cute.. cuz i think Lulu's eyes were about they PS2 lights when its off
LittleMissAwesome will always be my favourite Twin!!

I dislike Yuna. Not entriely but I don't love her either. The whole personality bothered me. Anyone with a profound maturity that everyone's been mentioning due to her father dieing and giving up her own life blah blah - would not come off as so whimpish and whinney and trying to make everyone else so friggen happy (in my opinion). Of course she gave up her life so why not make other people happy regardless of her own feelings, but for someone so "mature" she seemed more childish doing so. Kids are usually the ones that come to you when you're sad, just randomly if there's one around of course, and offer what little they have and it makes you laugh cause you think it's cutely immature. But they make you feel better somehow anyways. They have that touch. Yuna had it on them. But giving up your life in that aspect is commendful, in her boots I probably would've gave the same sacrifice, but if her persona is what you think as mature...I'd go for the immature lol. Again I'm just stating my opinion, not to make anyone upset. Other than that, the other reason I dislike her is because she's so weak in battle. I almost pissed my pants with laughter when I made her attack. A biatch slap with a wand, lol. Training her was too long for my liking, and the aeons were nice to look at and play with in spare time - but I never used them, except for in bevelle when you had to because she's so weak. But I never recall somonning them for a boss battle. Oh, the other time I used one was in the beginning of the game on Sin's fin. But that's it. Seymor and Jecht were done in with swords and black magic. I thoroughly enjoyed destroying the aeons in the end. Except for Valefor, after all he did for Yuna, that was just sad. Anyways, other than those dislikes I really like her clothes, she was absolutely beautiful in most of the scenes. Looks aren't everything though. Her voice didn't really bother me either, I'm not consentrating on the lip movements when someone is talking. Despite the personality faults I see the story of Yuna and Tidus captured me, and probably wouldnt've worked out so well if Yunas personality in the game was different. But nonetheless I dislike Yuna in my heart. ~Sky~
