    Default SOOOO SLOW!

My computer is going soo slow. Naturaly I thought that it was spyware.
so i bought programs that would get rid of it.I did the scan and nothing happened. So then i went out and bought norton antivirus which was 50$... And still nothing. Any suggestions???

Did you use Spybot Search and Destroy and Adaware?

A full reformat and reinstall will do the trick if this is Windows.

Buying Norton if anything will make it even slower, since you're adding yet another program onto the system to be running at the same time as everything else

You could disable realtime file scanning. I don't know what it's called in Norton, since I only install and run a virus scanner every few months, but surely if your dad knows nothing about computers, he won't know that you've effectively shut down Norton's main CPU/RAM-consuming process?

Make sure bloodhound isn't running on Norton, it consumes so much f-ing ram and does nothing...

It could be the lack of RAM.

    What OS are you using?

What is your resolution and color quality?

Screen Resolution has little effect on memory these days unless you have a really old crappy video card, since all that's handled by the video card's own VRAM instead now.
