true but not everyone does fort condor. so its quite possible 2 beat the game with shiva your only summon (though i dont know how u can miss Ifrit, Ramuh, Bahamat and Neo Bahamat)

fort condor aint optional, you need to do it to get the huge materia, and that allows you to fight weapon at mideel

No, Fort Condor final battle isn't optional, but actually going up to get Phoenix is. You can just ignore it and leave to talk to the guy's father.

you cant go down untill you pick up the phoenix materia though, since when you pick it up the egg cracks open, and you need to see that before you can go down, beleive me i have just got past that bit again

The egg hatching before you pick up Phoenix. The baby flies away when you actually pick it up.

Next time, try going up there, but don't pick it up. See if that works (I'm not absolutely sure if it's requred or not, but I'll check when I get there again).

You don't even have to have Shiva. Don't forget, there is a "trash" option .

i havent trashed any, but i lost one of my enemy skill materia and added cut when i ran out of materia space and they got lost in the overflow. what a ******...

Same reason, Aeris is called Aeris and not Aerith, the Japanese don't have certain sounds in their language so they "compensate"...

I think Alexander was pretty damn easy to get when I tried. Most people seem to go to the wrong water instead of the spring, and to these people I say "SPRINGS BUBBLE YOU MORONS!!!".
