what SHOULDNT EVER be in a FF again

The one thing I really hate about FF games, are the constant random-battles. No FF game is without those painfully long waste-of-time boredom.

Well you got a point there...but you gotta agree with me that they can get on your nerves. For example; you spend hours of getting through a level and then get killed right before the boss by a monster...that happened to me once in Final Fantasy IIj. So I had to re-do the whole level, and do you know how painfully long the dungeons are in FFII????
And they're even without save spots, AHHH I wanted to smash my head against the walllllll!!!!

This is true. But without a certain degree of random battles, how do you level up effectively, and guage progress? I mean, should I be having trouble in RANDOM battles, I'd definately wait to take on the big kahuna.

Rubedo: You wouldn't believe how many times I smashed the controller when I got into a stupid random battle... Actually, they aren't that bad or anything; I have just played FF for a long time and am getting tired of them...

Maybe there should just be a control in the status screen. So when you wanna level up, you're inundated with 'em, and when you gotta get to a save point ASAP, you can shut them off, or all but.

What shouldn't ever be in FF again?

- A whiny, stuck-up, annoying damsel-in-distress, love interest, female lead character. *coughs*Rinoa*coughs*

- The hero being under 18. If the heros get younger every game, we'll soon have a 4 months old saving the world.

- A final boss that has no background/purpose and that you only hear about 5 minutes before the end of the game.

Card game. Ugh. It's not even a GOOD CCG, it's just a crummy way of getting you to spend more time playing the game. It's basically just dominoes only it has more rules and isn't as much fun to dominate people in. In fact, I don't even want there to be a good CCG in FF. When I play a game, I don't like side-quests much. It's like watching a movie and then having another movie start playing at the same time. Damnit, I want to watch them separately!

I'm going to agree that FF shouldn't be online anymore. One online game is enough. I've started playing FFXI now, and I'm enjoying it, but not only is all the content fairly intimidating, it's also the sorta thing you gotta do all the time to maximize your experience. I don't exactly want to spend every free moment playing video games.

Characters with supercliche mysterious backgrounds. If someone doesn't know much about his or her past, you can pretty much guarantee he or she has an EXTENSIVE past with the central villain. I think it's not very interesting and they've already exhausted what they can do with that archetype. I think they should look for new sorts of characters.
