I'm Cait Sith? hmm...
I didn't do anything major, just named Red XIII --> Rex XIII, because it just sounds better, and Aeris --> Aerith.
I remember first time I played through I named Barret "Tank"
I'll put down the ones I remember.
Cloud: On my first playthrough, I named him Zack before I even knew there was a Zack in the game. It got really confusing during those scenes and I kept thinking that Aeris' old boyfriend was Cloud.
Aeris: Sierra, Alexis
Barret: I just left his the same.
Tifa: Savannah, Kayla
Red: Furin, Nanaki
Cait Sith: Salem
Yuffie: Nikaya (Nik-ky-a), Nikki
Vincent: Evin

Aeris- Dead Lady
RedXIII- PretyKity (pretty kitty didn't fit)

Barret = John, i named him my brother as at first i thought he was the badguy.
Tifa = Gill
Red XIII = Meano, that was my fave name n_n
Vincent = Jeffrey!
Caitsith = Fat fred
Yuffie = Yuffie (yuffie was my fave char XD)

the first time i played the game i used the default names then when i completed it and started it again i used these

1st time I play through, I keep the names.
Then if I want to keep the names, I only change Red XIII so it's just 'Red', and I change Aeris to Aerith.
I've called my characters lots of things...
I called Aerith 'My balls', once, because it seemed funny when somebody was talking about it.
Last time I played the game, they were all named after swear words, exept from Barret, who was Mr.T, and Red, who was Homer.
My first time through:
I called Cloud "Slick" for some reason and kept the rest.
My second time through:
Cloud > "Claude"
Barrett > "Victor"
Tifa > "Shirina"
Aeris > . . . I forget
Red > "Garu Naki" (don't ask)
Yuffie > "Mikaela"
Cait > "DC"
Vincent > "Keith"
Cid > "Hans"

Moments later Spartan is arrested for "violating" Huxley.
By the way, that's called satire. Get over it.
