It was in the besteary (spelling?) that said Rufus can be morphed. They were just using the normal template, and then screwed it up (lazy bastages).

Well, after playing through it once, I already know exactly what's going to happen, and there's nothing I can change about it. It's boring...
well, i understand dat. but if you get so bored sitting through the heart of the game (plot), why keep restarting?

Why replay it? Well, because the rest of the game is fun. I can't let one drawback stop me, that's just not right
Cloud's theme? You talkin' about a music theme? I don't think he really has one...unless you mean that "battle" music you here during the part where you get aquainted with the game.
