10 years
Important question (at least to me it is). How many years can pass by in FF:CC before the game's internal clock stops? My friend told me that he read it was 10. If it is 10, well, then this game blows. if it was 10 years then they should put it in the manual or something, cause i'm in year nine, "stocking up" for the final battles. Now i'm afraid to get any Myrrh, afraid of what might happen once i finish year ten. Please help me with this.

How far have you gotten in the game?
Hmm. Eventually, the game would have to stop counting the years because it runs out of room to store this ever-growing number. But the programmers would have to be awfully lazy for this to have an effect on yearly events (miasma stream colors, tide, etc).
Even if they are lazy, I can think of absolutely no reason why the game would be rendered unplayable once the game reaches a given year.
It goes far passed year 10.

Yeah, I've never heard of anyone rolling over the year counter. Although I find it somewhat odd that your characters don't age at all no matter how much time goes by.
I got myrrh from all of the places, i just don't want to beat the game yet because i want to make my character as strong as possible.Originally Posted by Butz

I just confirmed that you can get to year 11, I just did it myself. Nothing bad happens. Well, I stopped getting hints from Roland, but I think that's because I (SPOILER)got holy.
