Pireflies, spheres, the farplane or possibly the Zanarkand ruins.
They all have images/reminders of thainhs that have happened. Things that may have happened b4 someone died (in the case of zanarkand and the farplane), the pireflies in these places react to emotions and re-create images of the person's memories.
