    The chocobos that are sad are the poor ones which are really slow in races and no good when it comes to breeding. I don't really remember much about the chocobo part but if you want to a great or wonderful chocobo then I think you have to catch one from either the Icicle or Mideel area. If they're fair/good/great/wonderful then the chocobo man will let you put them in the stables. But then again I haven't done anything to do with chocobos in a long time so I might be wrong
