Disapointing Animes

ok, well ive been busy lately but i wanna get back into anime. wats the best anime on toonami, and when duz it play (very newbish, i kno, but i haven't watched cartoon network in ages). thankx. no yu yu hakusho (?) or tenchi!!!thanx. sorri if the last sentence offended ne1, it just duzn't catch my eye

geez... Gundam Wing. I'm sorry, come after me with bats and all manners of impaling implements, but that one just rubbed me all about the "wrong way" path. Then one day I saw ten minutes of an FLCL episode, and all other anime bowed before me in disgrace.

lol. well the UK tonami has not had any new anime 4 ages. aside from DBZ, Gundam Wing and Outlaw star its all mediocre to poor. they dont show Cowboy Bebop anymore, which is a REAL shame. thats my 2nd fav Anime ever.

the UK sci-fi channel is showing Fist of the North Star seris and Excel Saga at 5am, everyday. but this is all useless to u since your USA...meh...

I like Spirited Away... The new Pokemon is starting to get my nerves. It's the same thing over and over and over and over and over and over and over. The Final Fantasy Unlimited Wasn't bad... it wasn't good either. Kiki's Delivery Service has lost it's magic for me. I get bored right when she gets all depressed.

i just feel if it was THAT good it would still show on the dub...like Martian Successor Nadesico 4 instance. many jokes were lost...but where re written to make sense to western ppl. class show in japanese and english.

It's the voice-dubbing that ruins it.

B't X. It was a full series I saw on Animesuki that was like 5 gigs that I thought might be cool based on it's super-vague description.

One of the bad guy's names turned out to be Metal-Face. Because part of his face had metal on it. I didn't watch farther than the first episode.

that much? even the most awful dubbed anime i have enjoyed simply because it was a good show. and why cant it be a Nadesico job? damn u ADV films.

i must confess episode 4's dating game stuff with lord what-his-face was funny, but can ALL the other humor have been lost? and its only Excel i hate. the other voices are nicely cast.

well i think its episode 7 on at 5.30 this morning. i hope its good and i understand it despite missing episode 2 and 6(though i doubt that matters, the plot is a mess).

That is my list of dissappointments. So much suckage. Thats a pretty big list up there so one might wonder what I would consider to be great? Well...here are they are.

not seen those two yet, but i agree Samuri X: Trust & Betrayal is awesome...probably my fourth fav Anime.

I will go through the list.

Saiyuki Reload - Picks up roughly were the Saiyuki left off. Except they expect that you full watched the last series and there is no real plot. Just random occurences of what would be filler episodes in the previous series.

Last Exile - This moved somewhat slow and then at the end got kind of rushed...or at least I thought so. Good animation and good style also but it just was not very interesting. The characters were not very interesting also. They also didn't fully explain some things that they could have explained had they not slacked off in the beginning so much(wasn't as bad as I make it seem).

Vampire Hunter D - 80's animation and feel in the year 2000 made it hard to watch at all. Back grounds were not very interesting of too full of crap trying to be all intense. Story had a good premise but it didn't execute very well. Vampire Hunter D: Bloodlust was good though.

Akira - I don't know where to begin. Whole last half of the movie is like 'WHAT?!' They tried to do way too much and it ended up with a lot of pyscological though and crap because they didn't have time to explain themselves.

Gundam 0079, Gundam Z - I think these mainly suffer from the time. The animation, story progression and development and cinemtography were not all that spectacular today but then it probably was.

Escaflowne - Boring characters or annoying characters and a story that isn't all that interesting.

Chrno Crusade - Cool characters and cool story and a really good ending. This sounds great right? WRONG! The story takes forever to get started up. I looks like it does in the beginning and then 4-15 or so seem like random events outside the main core story for the most part. Then it picks up and does a good job of ending but it seemed to suffer from being a bit rushed IMO.

Dragonball GT - Ummm....yeah DBZ but a trillion times worse in all aspects.

Metropolis - I just hate that art style first off. Then from there on out I just didn't like anything else about it.

Ninja Scroll - Just didn't like it.

Full Metal Panic! - random episode strung together around a core plot that they don't explain until the last 2 or something like that episodes and even then it didn't seem so much rushed as it did just incomplete.

As for .HACK//SIGN...that series moves really really slow and may seem incomplete in the end but if you think about the goal from the beginning...it isn't incomplete at all. There is so much back story that is explain in the games and .HACK//LIMINALITY. A lot of people don't like it because the end is like the start of something else(the games) and it moves too slow for them and not a lot of action.

Full Metal Alchemist is just plain awesome. Rich world with a rich history. Interesting characters, not many filler episodes at all(if any). GREAT forshadowing and story. Interesting villians and it can be pretty funny. Music can be good at times but it isn't alway memorable. Its currently up to episode 46(47 tomarrow).

cool. those r pretty fair reasons not to like an Anime. just wish more of those were avaliable in the UK...

back on Excel Saga...just watched episode 7...utter crap. even with the sub this would suck. i,m enjoying the fist of the north seris on just before it ALOT more. and that says alot...

I own only .HACK//SIGN(and every other part of .hack universe) and Samurai X. Everything else is downloaded from such places as www.boxtorrents.com, www.anime-xtreme.com and others. Most of it is japanese with a fansub.

Dragonball was good. Dragonball Z...not so much and I question how it kept going as long as it did. DBGT...wonder how it ever got the go ahead.
