Short shorts are really skanky anyway you look at them...so it depends on who's wearing them and where. I prefer my shorts to have at least a 6" inseam on them if I'm wearing them in public.

Short shorts looks nice on a beautiful girl... It looks weird on a guy. Personally I like shorts that go down under my knees (I think they're called Knickers?). They are both cool and comfortable.
