    Grin Sequel idea...

Now, I'm well aware that there isn't ever going to be another FFX-related game. The Rikku/Yuna-starring X-3 idea was abandoned long ago; there was some consideration given to an Auron/Braska/Jecht prequel, but that story - and its conclusion - are told in FFX, so that idea died quickly, too.

However, there's another prequel possibility that occurred to me.
I don't know if it's been suggested before; if it has, I've never seen it.
But there's one big bit of back-story to FFX's characters we're never shown in full, one that'd make an interesting game, I think:
    Lulu.

Think about it... she was a fascinating character in FFX; multi-faceted and mysterious. We know a little about her history, just enough that it'd be a great game without having been utterly spoiled already.

We don't know exactly where Lulu's from; she's definitely not a native to Besaid, but we don't know how she got there after her parents' deaths.
We know she was once involved with Chappu, Wakka's younger brother. It'd be good to see their interactions, and how she reacted to his final 'career move'. Then there were the two pilgrimages she went on, one ended by her summoner's death on Gagazet - potential for some riveting new characters there - and the other which failed when her summoner lost his nerve, in the Calm Lands. This'd provide a whole different look at summoners' lives and roles in Spira, as well as the personal struggles of the guardians. It'd be good to see Lulu's changes; when she became a 'dark' and broody sort, what she was like before, that kind of thing. I believe she lost her left eye at some point; she's definitely fought a lot of battles, so a new game would be a good way to learn about what she really went through up until the beginning of FFX.

That, and it'd be another chance to hear Paula Tiso's perfect voice-acting, too. She conveys Lulu's intelligence and wit so well.

That, does, sound like a pretty good idea. I'd be kind of worried about how it would end though... it'd kind of just, end where Tidus' shows up? Not too thrilling. =P It'd have to be something really, really awesome. XD

Yep, a good ending would be a challenge to think up. There'd have to be some kind of 'overall plot', perhaps.

Maybe the story could end when Lulu's finally become the person she is in X - dark-clad, emotionally closed - standing on a hilltop, watching the sun set and reflecting on events in her life.
    Or something.

I should also add that there'd be interesting potential for back-story details like where and when she studied black magic, and how she learned to use stuffed toys as weapons - something none of her friends understand.

Oh, that's interesting, because I've always thought any other FFX spin-off should focus on Lulu. I agree that she has the potential for a really interesting back story, one which we only get hints about in FFX. However, you are correct, an ending would be difficult, especially given that both her summoner's journeys fizzled out. There would have to be some ending trial that she goes on for herself, perhaps Chippal or other new characters, which transforms her from the failed guardian to the black mage who accompanied Yuna.

That's one of the best ideas I've heard.

Now don't get me wrong, I loved FFX2 but, the storyline got boring to me pretty quickly.

Having a prequel about how Lulu ended up at Besaid (that would be the end, maybe after the devastating loss of her summoner) is a pretty good idea.

Before I post about this, can someone please tell me which summoner was first, the one that quit or the one that died. And didn't the one that died die in the Cavern of the Stolen Fayth?

I think her first pilgrimage was the one that ended with the female summoner's death in the Cavern. The second one was about a year before Yuna's journey, and ended when Father Zuke(?) quit. [q=Halenite]Having a prequel about how Lulu ended up at Besaid (that would be the end, maybe after the devastating loss of her summoner) is a pretty good idea.[/q]I think Lulu was living on Besaid for a long time, probably since she was very young. She's definitely been there long enough to consider Yuna a sister, and Yuna's been there since she was seven. Lulu must've been based in Besaid at the time of her earlier pilgrimages, I think.

I am in the midst of writing a FFX fanfic about braska/jecht/auron.

But the idea of a prequel of Lulu as a guardian is a great idea mah~

Just as long as Rikku isn't in the game. Paine can be though, hell maybe the two of them end up being sisters.

Paine and Lulu could be sisters, in my opinion. Their ages are close enough that it's possbile for them to have had the same parents (Lulu's folks were killed by Sin when she was five). Same red-wine eyes, similar skin, similar personalities and dark humour. Actually, when I started playing X-2, I thought there was going to be some connection revealed between Paine and Lulu.
