I believe it has something to do with counterattack.
For example, in the Imperial Base near Doma Castle, you can fight 2 Templars and 2 Soldiers. If you use the Fire Dance blitz, you will kill them all, but the Templars will dissappear only a while after the soldiers, even when none of them counter the blitz attack.
