    Where I live(Illinois), it is the law to signal 100 ft before you commit to a turn in city and 200 ft in rural areas. It is a ticketable offense...even if they have never given out a ticket for it(Not sure but I still don't think I am wrong).

    Why in the hell would you lose points for signaling when no cars are around? What about pedestrians and other things like that? You also never no when a car is going to come into site and rely on your signal. Its better to just signal. It hurts no one.

    Yay Rainecloud!! Well done!! =D

    I learnt to drive as soon as I turned 17, and I had my car for about a year before that. I passed my test first time, as I was pretty lucky with the situations and stuff. I still really enjoy driving and I <3 my car.

    For some reason that makes no sense to me...why would the distance be doubled if your in the middle of nowhere?

    And yeah you get ticketed for not signalling 100ft ahead of the turn here too, or atleast thats whats written down. Until you kill someone the cops won't even pull you over...and no I'm not being sarcastic or kidding. I remember once I was standing on a corner waiting for my mom and a car came speeding by and crashed into a stop sign...and it just kept driving up against the sign...as it was doing this about 20 cars drove right by it and a cop finally came but...he drove right by as well...the car kept going until the sign's pole BENT UNDER THE CAR AND DROVE OVER IT....this isn't uncommon around here at all, but thats the only time I actually wittnessed it.

    I hate everything about this place and I don't want to drive here but sadly theres no other way I'm gonna get a job. ;__;

    I passed the written test on the first try and got my permit.

    I haven't taken the road test yet because in this state (New York), you have to have your permit for six months to get an unrestricted license. Before 6 months, you can get a restricted license, which only allows you to drive to a job or to school. I figure I can wait, since 6 months is December, and I wouldn't have a car anyway.

    I'm a really bad driver.

    Where I live you need 7 hours of driving, 7 hours of observation and about 32 hours of class time to get your license.

    My first of 7 lessons, I get this hard ass that realizes there is no hope for me. He knows I'm going to fail if I stay under him, so he turns me over to the easy instructor.

    Even though I run a red light and don't wait my turn at a four way intersection, I still pass. I had to wait 6 months after completing driver's ed to get the license. 6 months came and went, and I still felt I wasn't ready to drive on my own. I kept my permit and continued to practice. No need for a license if you aren't going to be driving on your own, the insurance will kill you.

    To hell with Battletoads and Double Dragon.
    THIS is the ultimate team.
