Erratic loading times

It's been okay for me until today, when I couldn't access the forums (but still the main page, weird).

Same here, although when I went back from the site, everything worked fine, so I can't say exactly what changed it. If anyone wants to report any dead times, please ensure that you let us know if the frontsite is loading or not as well as the forums.

I've only had this problem on one day so far, a few days ago now.

I know for a fact that the server went down for 4 minutes earlier. If this continues, I'm going to contact my host.

Yes, there were a few minutes today that nothing was opening up, other than that it's just mostly been slow.

Ditto on the forums not opening at around 2am, but the mainpage still loading fine. I can never tell if the speed has to do with the site or with me though, since I share a network with the rest of the apartment complex.

Yeah, sorry. I turned on something in the vbulletin to have a max on the load. But I turned it off now.

I just had a connection refused error, and then I had a "Problem with the database" error. About three minutes ago.

So far as mod_bwlimited, who knows. I don't know anything about admining extremely high-traffic sites. I have experienced random forum-slowness though.

Alright, well, here is what my host said:

Summary: At approximately 0115 hours CST your server lost power due a defective powerstrip. The defective strip was identified, replaced, and power was restored to the affected location. The Planet Infrastructure staff then immeadiately attended to your machine and ensured that it was back online and accessible. The total downtime was very minimal, and did not exceed the acceptable limits of your SLA.

Future Mitigation: Our facility engineers have inspected the PDU and everything is in order. The Planet will continue to monitor the PDU for any potential problems. If future work is required that could cause downtime, we will make every effort to notify all customers at least 72 hours before the work is performed.

We appreciate your patience in the matter, and if you have any further questions regarding this incident, please feel free to open a support ticket.
Resolution:

Please do not reply to this email. If you have additional information, please update the ticket using the link to the support system provided. If the support ticket was closed, and the issue was not resolved to your satisfaction, please feel free to open another ticket and reference this ticket number.

I couldn't get on at about 4:45 p.m. today.

EDIT: And as I was trying to post this, it gave me a Server is too busy. message.

EDIT2: It was 5:45 not 4:45.

Sorry, I thought I turned that "feature" off but apparently I left it on. Off now.
