They could make a materia system similiar to the force in Jedi Knight.

LoL, if you are going to make a yes/no poll shouldn't you use radio buttons? Just for fun I voted for both since I think materia makes a not too bad, not too great battle system. (FF7 is way too easy...)
There are 10 kinds of people. Those who understand binary and those who don't.
I agree even if it is an armour or something but not as proper materia with the abilities, FFIX has the best system for abilities, they should have something similar to that but not FFX-2Originally Posted by Chris

must have materia....cure at least........*i don't spend money on potions unless i have to* that's not very often...![]()
FFIX had crappy ones, have to equip different objects to learn different things? that'd mean you could have all this awsome stuff and b really far only to find out that you really want another skill, so you equip it, and it totally blows, that's my only disagreement about that type of learning
Materia is an important part of the story in FFVII, so maybe it returns in DC, or maybe not. I really hope so, cause how cool would it be to cast spells in a "shooter"?
i agree it'll also be awsome to summon with vincent and get your enimeis ripped apart. like with bahamut. that would be awsome!
Yeah

As Bugenhagen shows in the original game, a planet without lifestream would die. I'm assuming that the entire game isn't based on a world that doesn't exist anymore, so I'm assuming that the lifestream will still exist. While the lifestream exists, mako energy will exist. While mako energy exists, materia will exist, whether it comes about artificially or naturally.Originally Posted by Big D

Getting rid of mako is like getting rid of water. Its always somewhere.
I hope Square uses a new materia system but also a skill tree in Dirge of Cerberus. Action oriented RPGs usually work best with skill trees where the character can learn new nifty moves.
