FFXII release date

Generally, that was the old release date. From my understanding, SE pushed it back to an unspicified date. AOL doesn't have the best information for games, I'm sure.

Why is DoC coming out before kingdom hearts 2 if it was started so much later

Just because we heard about it later doesn't mean it was started later. I bet you that Square Enix started Advent Children, Before Crisis and Dirge of Cerberus at around the same time.

I don't know about the North America release date,
But I read that SE announced that the Japanese release in spring 2005,
But who knows...

Two New Zealand game stores' websites (Central Park Interactive and The Gamesman) are saying that the game'll be released here in December 2006. I'm deeply hoping that this is inaccurate, as that date is over two years away. We can expect to see FFXII some time after it is released in Japan - that's always been the case, and it's understandable - but before the end of 2005 would be preferable.

I wouldn't exactly trust AOL in terms of game information, IMO. All I've heard is the 2005 spring release for Japan.
