FFXI pay options question

I'm thinking of getting FFXI, but am wondering about how to pay.
Is the only to pay the monthly fee by credit. I am pretty sure i read somewhere that you could pay with a pre-paid or debit card in America. Does anyone know if you can pay this way in Australia?

I don't think you can use a debit card from Australia, or at least I couldn't. I had to use a credit card, but that could have been because I imported the game from the US. You could try using your debit card, if that doesn't work you could get a credit card?

someone please tell me the cost of playing online per month or year etc. for FF11 and the "stupid" --not really stupid--- game is acutally out yet.
