The majority of sequels fail miserably. I'm thoroughly against this.

    Shame on you.

Well it is a Mel Brooks movie so I should get to seeing it (is a huge Brooks fan). I wonder who will play the role of "Barf"?

Presumably it will spoof the sequels, and only require Mel Brooks to return

Very true. Rick will probably join as well since he's been doing jack squat since then.

*thumbs up* I loved the first one. I'm a bit skeptical, though. This has a high standards to live up to. (I don't think that came out grammatically correct....)

Star Wars parodies have become so ubiquitous that it would be very difficult to make one that stands out in any special way, and I think it'd be tragic if Mel's last movie was so forgettable. I guess we'll see.

Hm, the first one was a long time ago, but parodies can be made whenever there is enough material to furnish them. Like kishi said Star Wars gets parodied often and I'm not sure if it can be fresh, but if anyone can do it Brooks can.

they waited this long to do a sequel? why? at this point.. dont bother. by now its cliche to mimic star wars, and todays generation might not understand the greatness of the first space balls.. not to mention it just wouldnt be the same without john candy ::sob::

I liked Spaceballs, so I'll be sad if the sequel sucks. But if it's good...

Hopefully it will be well written. Mel Brooks is getting up there...it'd be nice to see him make a new movie--he hasn't done one since Dracula: Dead and Loving It.

It should be good. I have faith in Mel. I can't wait.
