Necronopticous, that's got to be one of the funniest things I've ever read. And sadly, it's very, very true.

    Good things:
    | FF7 | Kingdom Hearts | AerisxSeph | SoraxKairi | TifaxRufus | RenoxYuffie | TsengxElena |

    I'm rad. You're rad. Let's hug.

    Default Are you forgetting something?

I find it funny that no one has mentioned Crisis Core, the OTHER Final Fantasy game. Before Crisis....Crisis Core...whats next? Cloud's mid-life crisis? *Sorry, pitiful joke*. Anyway I think people are over-reacting. Personally I trust SE, and think they know what they are doing. I moaned when they put FF Tactics on the GBA, I complained about X-2, and I screamed my lungs out over Final Fantasy XI, and Square came through with those beautifully, (except for FFXI, I will NEVER forgive Square). I thought playing FFVII was pure bliss, and it is my favorite game of all time, but I'm one of the people that was watching the ending going WTF, so I think it would be nice to have some continuation to the story, just to clear up some questions that I, and I suspect many other gamers, had. So if Square wants to milk FFVII for all it's worth then by all means be my guest. I'll buy them, I'll love them, I'll max out my game time to 99:99 on each.

I do, ill buy doc, but its not the same thing, its not going to convey the same feelings, I was not dissing the game I was just saying that its not going to be like the original (not just the genre) and I'm not having a go at square, I love the company, so don’t twist my meaning. But it’s like every time FF7 is mentioned by square it’s never in the context that MOST people want. Put your hand up if you would love a remake? Don’t have a go at me, tell me, honestly, if you enjoyed FF7 would u not also enjoy a remake with nice eye-candy and character voices? I would, because it would do it justice. FF7 deserves a face lift if any game ever did.

Whether you spit or swallow that’s what I think.
Omg! i have the same mind as you, who wants a movie anyway, i mean a movie is great but it is not what the crazed fans like me wanted. Me, i wanted a new ff7 with better gaphics, voices and everything else that was put into ff10. Dirge of cerberus looks ok too, but again its not what the crazed fans like me wanted in the first place. i even sent 20 e-mails to square asking to make a sequal or atleast a remake of the original. And another thing square would pull in so much money into its company everyone who owns or has played ff7 would buy a copy. so why not make another.

    Here's my two cents...

I for one, hate FFX-2. I was surprised when they first released it, because they'd never tried a sequel before. Then it sucked. They can try to do it again with FF7 if they want. It may work, it may not. Who knows 'till they do it? Anyway, if they made a re-make of FF7, how many people do you honestly think would buy it? Seriously. There would be the FF7 megafans that would rush in and buy it as soon as possible (Like me =D), and there'd probably be a few people who haven't played it before or hated it before because of the graphics, and bought it out of curiosity. Other than that, everyone would see it as pointless. If it's exactly the same game, just done up a bit, why would you bother playing it? Why pay for something you already have? If I bought it, I'd probably never finish it, because I'd get bored, having already done everything. Would Square-Enix be willing to take such a risk? I don't think so...

Another thing, I agree with Big D. Some people seem to be obsessed with keeping the FF series the same. If it was kept the same, it would die a quick and spluttering death. If they didn't try anything new, they'd just have the same audience over and over. They try new stuff to get new audiences, and keep the new generations happy. I hate all the FFs after FF7, because they lack anything resembling a good storyline and their characters are all crap, but some people love them. That's the way things work. Some like it, some don't.

The point is, Square-Enix is trying to make the most cash by using experience to their advantage. FF7 was by far the most popular of the whole series. So the smartest thing to do would be to milk that for all it's worth. So, being a megacorporation that preys on the souls of stupid and mindless consumers like ourselves, they make a few FF7 spin-offs to keep us happy. Some people will resist the temptation and try to stay with the original and not try anything else because it "just isn't the same". These people will remain in the dark with their PS1 whilst everyone else enjoys their FF7 DVD or PS2 game. Then eventually they'll try the new one and most likely will enjoy it.

I know I'm going to try everything they throw at me. I've always been a huge Squaresoft fan, and I remain a huge Square-Enix fan today. They may have (in my opinion) completely screwed their last few attempts at making a good game, but that doesn't mean that they're incapable of righting their mistakes and giving us an excellent game actually worth playing. I'm looking forward to FFXII, FF:AC, and FFoC. Why? Because they may be good. I was just the other day saying to my friend Dan how cool it would be if they made an action FF, and now I learn that they are. I also said to him, a long time ago, that it would be extremely cool if FF7 was made into a movie. Look at this! It seems as though Square-Enix is answering my wishes with every move! It also seems that they are at least keeping one of their customers happy.

If you don't like something they release, don't play it. Try it, and if it still sucks, don't play it again. Just like I've done with every FF after FF7 (except FFXI... I still need to see how good or bad that is). Give them a chance, and quit your whinging. You're just one single pawn to them, they don't care whether you alone like their products or not. They care if the majority of the world does. And if the majority of the world likes it and you don't, they're going to make it anyway! Tough luck!

This is just my opinion. Don't take it personaly. Don't write back saying how incredibly wrong or stupid I am. I honestly don't care what you think. Get over it.

Alright... so this is just complaining about so many FFVII sequels right???

Square already told us... its called the "COMPILATION OF FINAL FANTASY VII"

They are planning to come out with a bunch of Final Fantasy VII stuff all at once... This is thier descision... you cant complain about that... If you don't like it... dont buy it...

Here are all the Compilation of FFVII games i know of right now...

    Advent Children
    Before Crisis
    Dirge of Cerberus
    Crisis Core

And if I'm thinking correctly... theres going to be more editions for the Compilation of FFVII... be prepared for many FFVII games...

personally, i think sqare's doing the best they can.

they know the draw of ff7, and they would like to continue the story/make more money off of it, right? however, they don't want to make it stagnant by just remaking the game. they're continuing the ff7 storyline/universe by taking different routes/genres to do so.

think about it. there's a movie, a new shooter type game, the cell phone game.... that's three new genres that the regular ff7 fan might not frequent that much, but they're going to broaden the reach of the ff7 mythos by going new routes.
