45-50 that is a reasonable range.
I'm going to have to say 50-55

Yeah...LV50-55 is good. I think that was the range I was in when I first beat the game.

I've even beaten the game on level 33.

Anywhere from 45-55 depending on your confidence and your level of skill. Deathguise was easy, and besides you can save after beating him. Kuja wasn't that bad. If the characters you're using are well equipped he won't be tough, even at levels in the 30's. Necron is easy if you have the abilities to withstand the negative status of his Grand Cross.
I don't remember what level I beat them at. I was a lot higher than necessary, as I did all the side-quests I could before I gave him a go. I'd already beaten Ozma, so both Kuja and Necron were child's play.
I always beat it in the 60's. Just cause I like high levels.

I say the higher level the better. I got 2 games, one with level 42's, and im stuck in memoria on Timat. Thats probobly because i did no side quests and training. My other game they are level 36 adverage on the beggining of the third disc and im still training, but already, my 2nd group is noticably stronger then the first. Levels arn't everything, it's just what type of abilities and stradegies you have and how well you play.
