Ok, I've found these guys in the rooms of the fanatics tower. I can't seem to hurt them and all they do is cast life and life2 on me, then escape. Is there a trick to these guys like there was in FFV?
Oops...they are called Magic Urns not Magic Jars, but they look the same as the Magic Jars from FFV.

I think there is nothing special to do like in FFV. Just let them heal you and maybe try to steal an elixir (rare - you will probably get a tonic). However you should get 5MP for beating them (I'm not sure about this...).

Yep, they give ya 5 MP when they flee. I'll try for the elixirs.

Use an elixir on them, see if they like the taste

Nah, don't even bother with the Elixirs. Just kick back and let them heal you until they run away. You still get credit for the Magic Points, I believe, even by doing nothing.

Yeah, you do. It's just a nice way to save your items and MP while making it through that hell-hole.

I am fairly certian if you have umaro in your party you can hurt them... but I know I have never killed them before and I had liked umaro in the past so they probably flee too fast for umaro to kill them alone, if he was damaging them, that may have been a dream :rolleyes2
