Thread: The Final Presidential Debate

Its weird how Kerry blamed Bush for Boeing moving out of the state of Washington. When really I know why, and I live in the state of Washington. It because are governor (democrate) Gary Lock taxed the crap out of them, and so they didnt want to stay here anymore.

It seemed most of the time Kerry was defending himself in the debate, and Bush was on the offense. I dont like Kerry, so I think Bush won it. Though there isnt really a real winner in these debates..

Just like someone said above...we all viewed it differently. Noname says Kerry was defending himself. I say he was actually explaining his plan on how he was going to do everything where as Bush was all mud slinging and talk(no plan).

I want to know the difference between "who won the debate?" and "who will you vote for?" I mean, wouldn't the person you will vote for be the person who won the debate in your eyes? And if you think the other guy won the debate, what difference does it make if it doesn't affect your vote?

I also live here and I'd like to disagree with that. I've an Uncle who works at Boeing and I have heard nothing of the sort. Also, what does Gary Locke's being a Democrat have to do with how Kerry can perform as president? Party affiliation isn't the be-all and the end-all of a person's ability to lead.

My Uncle also works at Boeing, and my grandfather is very close with a lot of the Boeing higher-ups (he used to be an executive at McDonnel-Douglas before he retired), and I havent heard anything about being taxed out either. I dont think a company as rich as Boeing could be taxed out of anywhere, especially with all the tax cuts Bush has been throwing at corporations anyway.

As for the debates themselves, I dont have a tv (well I have a tv, but nothing hooked up for broadcast) so I didnt watch it. I'd like to hear the opinion about who won it for someone who isnt dramatically for or against either of the candidates. All the responses in this thread have been rather typical. :/

The best bet Ashley, if I may call you that, is to read a transcript of the debate since deep down, every person does have an opinion which may skew the points made.

    If this helps:

    Take care all.

Of course you may, and thank you very much. I was hoping to find one of those.

I prefer to read it all anyway, it takes away anything that comes with appearance and tone of voice.

Well, even though I prefer one canditate over the other, I still think I can say, with no bias at all, that John Kerry won the debate. He DEBATED stronger than George Bush. I Prefer Kerry/Edwards over Bush/Cheney, yet I still say that Cheney beat Edwards in the Vice Presidential debates. When it comes to this I personally don't feel that I am biased.

If anybody has missed the presidential debates, there's this neat little sight that'll sum it all up for them.

    www.jibjab.com
click on the "This Land" link. You'll get an extremely accurate summary of the entire presidential debate process.

I think both of the candidates dodged questions. Kerry was asked a question about the economy, and he never answers the question but starts on about his educational plans and health care plans.
