10 nor 10-2 would have been possible without yuna. Terra was a very impertant character and added to the storyline but it could have been done without her.(not saying it would have been good though)

I'm pretty sure the White Mage from Final Fantasy 1 is a male. I guess they have the whole thing going where people want the character to be a female so even if they were intended to be male the fans portray them as a female. Such is also the case for one of the 10 Wise Men in Star Ocean (Jibril/Raphael I think).
Either way, it doesn't influence my decision.
EDIT: That is one SWEET signature you got there Chris. I'm a big fan of Dracula and the whole vampire deal myself.

It's actually debatable as to whether FF1's White Mage is a woman at all. The White Mage does kinda become a White Wizard which resembles...Jesus (ie. male) Unless the Mage get's a magical sex change (which is possible mind you, it is a mage after all) I think it's safe to say that the White Mage is a girly looking guy or a boy.
