I heard a great analogy today from an elderly combat vet on PBS who said that not only was Iraq beginning to look like Vietnam, but America was looking like the early 1970's all over again, where no one trusts anyone anymore. The only way to solve this problem is to actually deal with what's happening and try to fix the problems instead of continually putting up smokescreen after smokescreen and diverting our attentions elsewhere.

I'm only nineteen years old, and the events of Vietnam are only things I've studied and been told about. But the similarities between our time and that time has been apparent to me for sometime. I couldn't agree more with you, Cap'n.
